How to build a PC online (step by step)

Building a PC online is easier than it looks. Here's the whole process — from picking a case to ordering an assembled, tested machine — in a few steps.

How to build a PC online (step by step)

Building a custom PC online means choosing the parts yourself while software handles the hard part — checking that everything fits and works together. On BuildBox you assemble the parts list in a guided builder, and we assemble, test, and ship the finished machine.

The steps

  1. Open the builder and pick a case — or describe your budget and use case to the AI assistant and let it propose a starting build.
  2. Add a CPU (processor) and a compatible motherboard. The builder matches the socket automatically, so you can't pick a pair that won't fit.
  3. Add a graphics card (GPU) for the gaming or creative performance you need, then RAM and storage.
  4. Add a power supply with enough wattage for the build, and a cooler that fits your CPU and case.
  5. Review the live total price, estimated power draw, and FPS estimate. The assistant can suggest a cheaper or faster alternative for any slot.
  6. Save the build to get a shareable link, then order it — technicians assemble, test, and ship it, typically within five days, with a two-year warranty.

Compatibility is handled for you

You don't need to memorise socket types, RAM generations, or power requirements. As you add parts, BuildBox checks socket, form factor, power, and clearance, flags anything that won't fit, and suggests alternatives — so a first-time builder can put together a working machine with confidence.

Do I need to know about PC parts to build one online?

No. The builder checks compatibility automatically and the AI assistant can spec a complete build from your budget and use case — you review and adjust it.

Do you assemble the PC or just sell the parts?

We assemble it. After you order, technicians build, test, and ship the finished machine, typically within five days, with a two-year warranty.

Can I share or copy a build?

Yes. Every saved build has a short link and a public page, so you can share it or fork it into your own build.
