The Transcend MTS425S is a compact line of internal SATA SSDs in M.2 2242 format designed for ultrabooks, thin laptops, mini PCs, and embedded systems where standard 2.5-inch drives or longer M.2 2280 modules don't fit. The series uses a SATA III 6 Gbps interface and 3D NAND, available in capacities of 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB. All models share the same compact dimensions of 42.0 × 22.0 × 3.58 mm and weigh approximately 5 grams, making them ideal for thin devices with short M.2 2242 slots. Performance varies by capacity: the 250 GB model delivers up to 500/330 MB/s, the 500 GB up to 530/480 MB/s, and the 1 TB and 2 TB models up to 550/500 MB/s for read and write speeds respectively.
