The WD BLACK SN8100 is a line of internal NVMe SSDs in M.2 2280 format designed for desktop PCs and compatible laptops, built on a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and aimed at the high-performance segment for gaming, video editing, rendering, and demanding workloads. The series spans capacities of 1, 2, 4, and 8 TB, with both heatsink-less and heatsink-equipped variants available for each capacity. Across the lineup, maximum sequential read speeds reach up to 14,900 MB/s, while write speeds reach up to 14,000 MB/s in the 2 TB and 4 TB models, with the 1 TB model delivering up to 11,000 MB/s write speed and the 8 TB model up to 13,200 MB/s. The higher-capacity models deliver up to 2.3 million IOPS for read operations and up to 2.4 million IOPS for write operations. The series uses TLC 3D CBA NAND technology.
